Gospel Broadcasting Network – GBN/cable TV Ministry
GBN – “Gospel Broadcasting Network”, cable TV ministry, is the result of vision of Dr. William Johnson, who accepted Jesus in 1962. He received calling upon his life in 1969 to reach multitudes by proclaiming the gospel of His Kingdom and using media resources to spread the gospel to every home, every people group, and every tongue. Lord met Johnson in a vision showing him a great multitude without shepherd. Lord filed his mouth with a message and sent him to the multitude to preach the gospel:
“The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at
hand, repent and believe in the gospel”- Mark 1:15
Dr. Johnson also saw a wall which stood behind the multitude to his front and there was a man at the left corner of the wall like an evangelist, who repeated Johnson’s message to another hidden multitude behind the wall. Dr. Johnson interpreted this scene as a “Media Vision” adding to his calling to reach the visible and invisible multitudes. |
 |
Then immediately, that man was transformed to a cassette player, giving a significant meaning of a Media Ministry, to reach the hidden people behind the scene. Since then Dr. Johnson has started to use media tools like literature, audio- video tapes, 16mm gospel films, later on the Jesus Film. Today, media resources like satellite, cable channel, internet, DVDs and CDs have become a great source to spread the gospel to the least evangelized areas.
In June 2004 Lord blessed Dr. Johnson by preparing his youngest son Pastor Salem Johnson, increasing his ability and anointing to establish a studio having a right connection with a person who had a license for cable TV. He allowed us for “Broadcasting Gospel Network” (GBN), 24/7 cable TV channel. Today GBN has over 500,000 viewers and targeting to reach one million people, both seen and unseen multitudes with the assistance of Rev. Salem Johnson, appointed Director of GBN with a staff of 10 studio workers and ministry partners. |
